Das komplette Zündkerzenprogramm von NGK umfasst ein breites Spektrum an unterschiedlichen Zündkerzentypen:von der Standard-Zündkerze über die Edelmetallzündkerze bis zur Doppel-Edelmetallzündkerze. Für nahezu jeden Motor bietet NGK daher die optimale Lösung.

Eine Vielzahl von NGK Zündkerzen stammen direkt aus der Erstausrüstung. Rund zwei Drittel aller Anwendungen, die seit dem Jahr 2000 in den NGK PKW-Katalog aufgenommen wurden, nutzen die Fahrzeughersteller in Serie. Für den Automobilservice stellt NGK schon früh nach Serienstart Ersatzteile in identischer Qualität bereit.
Kaum ein Auto kommt heutzutage ohne NGK Zündkerzen, Glühkerzen oder NTK Lambdasonden auf den Markt. Alle europäischen Automobilhersteller verwenden diese Produkte bereits im Rahmen ihrer Fahrzeugproduktion.

Die Zündkerze ist für die Entflammung des Luft-Kraftstoff-Gemisches im Ottomotor verantwortlich. Die Güte der Entflammung beeinflusst viele Faktoren, die für den Fahrbetrieb und die Umwelt von enormer Bedeutung sind. Hierzu gehören etwa Laufruhe, Leistungsfähigkeit und Effizienz des Motors ebenso wie der Schadstoffausstoss. Eine Zündkerze muss zwischen 500 und 3500 Mal pro Minute zünden. Dementprechend groß ist der Beitrag einer modernen Zündkerzentechnik etwa zur Einhaltung aktueller Schadstoffnormen und zur Reduzierung des Kraftstoffverbrauchs.
Rehbraun - die alte Zündkerze sollte hellbraun oder weiß-grau sein. Falls dies nicht der Fall ist, lag wahrscheinlich ein Defekt vor.
Befinden sich an der Zündkerze deutliche Ablagerungen, kann dies ein Indiz auf schlechten Kraftstoff, Verbrennung von Kühlwasser oder Öl sein. Die Ablagerungen können nachglühen und zu ungewollten Zündungen führen.
Ein gebrochener Isolator weist meist auf ein falsches Anzugsdrehmoment hin.
Eine angeschmolzene Zündkerze deutet auf einen falschen Wärmewert hin. Dies passiert, wenn die Kerze überhitzt.
Rußablagerungen deuten auf einen zu kalten Wärmewert hin bzw. eine zu fette Verbrennung hin. Eine wärmere Kerze (kleinerer Wert) kann Abhilfe schaffen.

Der Wärmewert gibt Auskunft über die Temperaturbelastbarkeit einer Zündkerze. Je "kälter" die Kerze, desto mehr Wärme gibt die Zündkerze an den Zylinderkopf ab. Austausch nur bei komplett abgekühltem Motor. Anzugsdrehmoment: 25-30mm.

The spark plug is responsible for the ignition of the air-fuel mixture in the gasoline engine. The quality of the combustion affects many factors for driving and the environment of enormous importance. These resources include smoothness, performance and efficiency of the motor as well as the emission of pollutants. A spark plug must ignite 500-3500 times per minute. Accordingly large is the contribution of a modern spark plug technology about to meet current emissions standards and reduce fuel consumption.
Light brown - the old spark plug should be light brown or white-gray. If this is not the case, probably a defect was present.
If there are significant deposits on the spark plug, this may be an indication of poor fuel quality, combustion of cooling water or oil. The deposits can smolder and lead to unwanted ignitions.
A broken insulator usually indicates an incorrect torque.
A fused spark plug indicates an incorrect heat range. This happens when the candle overheated.
Soot deposits indicate a too cold heat range towards or too rich burn out. A warmer candle (smaller value) can help.

The heat value gives information on the temperature resistance of a spark plug. The "colder" the plug, the more heat is the spark plug on the cylinder head off. Replace only with complete engine has cooled down. Tightening torque: 25-30mm.
