Serienmäßige Luftfilter bzw. Luftfiltergehäuse sind immer ein Kompromiss. Der Hersteller muss auf Randbedingungen wie Geräuschentwicklung, Bauraum,
Zugänglichkeit und vor allem Kosten Rücksicht nehmen. Gerade durch eine Leistungssteigerung, die immer mit einem erhöhten Luftdurchsatz einhergeht,
stößt die originale Kompromisslösung schnell an Ihre Grenzen. Die OTA sorgt dafür, das vor dem Turbolader kein nennenswerter Unterdruck entstehen kann, welcher
der Leistung, Drehmoment und günstigen Verbauchswerten entgegenwirkt. Dies wird durch stömungsgünstige Formen und großzügig dimensionierte Flächen und die Werkstoffauswahl erreicht.
Auf Carbonfasern basierende Werkstoffe sind sehr schlechte Wäremeliter und sorgen somit dafür, dass die Hitze im Motorraum vom Luftfilter fern gehalten wird.
Durch gerade diese Auswahl hochwertiger Materialien und Ihren einfach Aufbau ist die OTA zudem extrem leicht und wiegt mit Einbaumaterial nur ca. 1Kg.
Neben Ihren technischen Eigenschaften überzeugt die OTA ebenfalls mit einem dezent sportlichen Motorklang.
Das Oval Trumpet Airbox Kit besteht im Wesentlichen aus einer ovalen Carbon Airbox mit einem strömungsverlustarmen Einlauftrichter am Luftfilterausgang.
Das Kit ersetzt den kompletten originalen Luftfilterkasten. Die ovale Form der Airbox erlaubt ein vielseitiges Einbauen des OTA-Systems.
Das Filterelement ist herausnehmbar und kann gereinigt und wiederverwendet werden. Es sind Reinigungskits ( BMC 250-500 ) und Ersatzfilterelemente ( ACOTARI-230 ) verfügbar.
Stock air filters are always a compromise. The OEM has to boundary conditions such as noise, space,
accessibility and above all take costs into account. It is through an increase in power output, which is always accompanied by an increased air flow,
the stock compromise solution quickly reachs their limits. The OTA effects, that their will be no significant negative pressure before the turbocharger,
that would decrease the power, torque and low fuel consumption. This is achieved by aerodynamic shapes and generously bigger sized filter surfaces and a well selected choice of materials.
Carbon-materials does not transfer heat from the engine to the airfilter. It is nearly isolating the airfilter.
By using high quality materials the OTA is also extremely light. It weights only about 1Kg incl. mounting material.
In addition to their technical characteristics, the OTA also convinces with a characteristic engine sound.
The Oval Trumpet Airbox is a complete kit for engine air aspiration and filtration.
This device is mainly composed of an oval shaped air box in carbon fibre containing a cylindrical air filter with dynamic inlet.
OTA kit totally replaces the original car filtration box (stock air-box). Usually the original car air boxes work in such a condition as the air is
recalled by the engine in a "depression" regime", thorugh reduced section tubes, thus resulting in high load drop along the aspiration line.
The OTA device, with its dynamic inlet, works in a "pressure regime", therefore it provides a constant and high rated quantity of air to the engine taking advantage of the dynamic effect of the air pressure.
In addition to its oval shape, offering high installation versatility, OTA system introduces in its inner part technical solutions which optimize the fluid dynamic of the air to the engine.
In particular, the innovative element called "trumpet", which is situated inside the air box in the area close to the air outlet, thanks to its shape favours and optimizes the convey of the air flow to the engine,
resulting in the diminishing of turbulences. This solution reduces the pressure drop along the engine aspiration line and, at the same time, takes advantage of the potentiality of the dynamic pressure of the air
caused by the speed of the moving car.
The air filter inside the box is made of a multi layered pre-oiled filtering material which grants an high filtration efficiency against limited pressure drop in the air.
The air filter has the function of protecting the engine from all the elements (debris, sand, dust) in the air flow during the aspiration phase.
BMC air filter has a very low drop (i.e. the pressure difference between the air flow at the engine side and the one at the air entrance side) in order to enable the maximum air flow.
BMC air filter can be regenerated and re-used. Once the saturation level has been reached, it is possible to regenerate the filter by washing and re-oil operation performed by means of the relevant regeneration kit.
OTA kit is a universal product which can be installed in different car models.
